Job Description
DXC Technology Italy is looking for a Software Developer Consultant to join the Custom Application Offering.
Responsibilities
- Autonomously design, develop and execute business and technical software solutions to implement new or enhanced applications (upgrades or conversions)
- Analyze, identify and resolve business and/or technical problems using appropriate solutions and tools
- Act as a direct point of contact with Business Analysts and Project Managers to understand the business environment, technical context and organizational strategic direction
- Contribute to the definition and maintenance of development standards and best practices within the team
- Provide guidance and support to junior developers on delivery activities
- Stay current on emerging tools, techniques, and technologies
We Require
- Bachelor or Master Degree (a technical field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, etc. is a plus)
- Experience and knowledge of Digital Development Services, Agile Application Development, DevOps, Cloud-based applications and Microservices architecture and patterns
- Strong technical experience writing code using languages: Java EE, Spring Framework (Core, MVC, Security, Data, Boot, etc.), Single Page Application frameworks, Microservices, Docker, design patterns and architecture design, and SQL/NoSQL databases
- Knowledge of AI/ML technologies, such as cloud AI services, LLM platforms (e.g., Azure OpenAI), basic ML frameworks and integration of AI APIs into enterprise applications.
- Knowledge of software development processes (Agile, Waterfall) and DevOps
- Ability to work with web-development tools for new applications with use of AI-assisted engineering tools
- Solid understanding of modern software design and development methodologies
The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, a problem-solving mindset, a focus on results, sound decision-making skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Location: Bari (BA), with Lavoro da remoto possibility.

Offer Package
The position offers a gross annual base salary starting from €20,000.
Compensation is determined in line with the applicable collective labor agreement (CBA: Contratto Collettivo Nazionale di Lavoro per il personale dipendente da imprese esercenti servizi di telecomunicazione) and based on objective and gender-neutral criteria, including responsibility, experience and skills.
