Job Summary

Atena School, a private language school in Calabria, Southern Italy, is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Native or Native-Level English Teacher to join our team for the 2026/2027 academic year. We are a Trinity College London Registered Centre Registration No. 76150 and we also prepare students for Cambridge English examinations.

THE POSITION

We are looking for a teacher with at least some previous teaching experience, who is passionate about working with children and teenagers and enjoys creating engaging, communicative and motivating lessons. The position involves teaching English language courses to young learners and teenagers, with students of different ages and levels.

REQUIREMENTS

- Native English speaker or native-level English proficiency
- A minimum of previous teaching experience is required
- Experience working with children and/or teenagers is highly desirable
- A degree in Humanities, Languages, Education/Pedagogy or a related field is a plus
- Enthusiastic, patient, reliable and motivated
- Excellent communication and classroom-management skills
- A genuine passion for teaching English and working with young learners
- Familiarity with Trinity and/or Cambridge English examinations is an advantage

CONTRACT & HOURS

- Part-time position 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday, mainly afternoon hours, in accordance with the applicable Italian CCNL.
- Start: Beginning of October 2026
- End: End of June 2027

ACCOMMODATION

We can offer the possibility of renting a centrally located accommodation for approximately 400 per month + utilities. Accommodation is optional and is not a requirement of the position.

Qualifications





- CELTA / Trinity CertTESOL / TESOL / TEFL certification
- Degree in Languages, English, Linguistics, Education, Pedagogy or Humanities
- Experience with Cambridge English and/or Trinity examinations
- Experience teaching children and teenagers
- Young Learner / CLIL qualifications
- Previous experience in a private language school

A degree in one of the following fields would be considered an advantage:

- BA/MA in English Language
- BA/MA in Modern Languages / Foreign Languages
- BA/MA in Linguistics
- BA/MA in Education
- BA/MA in Pedagogy
- BA/MA in Humanities
- BA/MA in English Literature
- BA/MA in Applied Linguistics
- BA/MA in Primary Education
- BA/MA in Psychology or Educational Psychology
- Other relevant university degrees

Student-centred teaching approach

- Communicative Language Teaching (CLT)
- Ability to use games, activities and interactive tasks
- Ability to encourage students to speak English actively
- Focus on communication rather than exclusively grammar-based teaching
- Ability to differentiate lessons according to students' age, level and learning needs
- Ability to use authentic materials
- Ability to integrate digital tools and technology into lessons

Salary and Benefits

- €993.53 / month (gross)
- ≈ £851 / $1,159
- Net salary may vary from month to month
- Position: Teacher 5th level, under the ANINSEI Schools C.C.N.L.
- Working hours: 15 hours per week, tempo parziale
- Gross monthly salary: approximately 993.53, paid over 13 monthly instalments
- Net salary may vary from month to month depending on applicable tax and social security deductions.
