ppOur client, a Multi-National Supply Chain Global Logistics Provider with an extensive network of offices across the globe are recruiting for a General Manager – Freight Operations to be based at offices in Milan and taking ownership of country operations. /p pThe role reports directly into the CEO for Global Forwarding Solutions based at HQ. /p h3On Offer /h3 ul liA key leadership role within a growing Supply Chain Logistics Specialist with great potential for future growth /li liSalary: EUR 110k - EUR 125k, depending on experience /li liTransport allowance /li liSTI: 15% - 20% /li liAnd more /li /ul h3Main Purpose of the Role: /h3 pThe General Manager – Freight Operations, Italy will take full ownership of the country's freight forwarding operations, leading a multi‐site team, strengthening customer and vendor relationships, and ensuring the delivery of efficient, profitable, and high‐quality service. The role is accountable for operational performance, commercial alignment, and business growth across Italy while acting as the key liaison between local operations and the global HQ. /p h3Responsibilities of the General Manager – Freight Operations,
Italy /h3 ul liLead and develop a small freight operations team across multiple locations in Italy to ensure efficient day-to-day performance /li liCoordinate with internal network offices overseas, Centre of Excellence (COE) and agents /li liBuild and maintain strong customer relationships and act as the escalation point for key customer issues /li liManage relationships with shipping lines, co-loaders, and other logistics vendors /li liPrepare and manage competitive freight forwarding quotations in consultation with internal stakeholders /li liCollaborate with the sales and commercial teams to align operational capabilities with growth goals /li liOversee PL; and ensure profitability /li liDrive business growth and operational improvements /li liParticipate in all audits, quality and excellence initiatives /li /ul h3Experience Required for the General Manager – Freight Operations, Italy /h3 ul liFluency in English Italian is essential to be considered /li li10 - 12 years in the Freight Forwarding Industry with 3 – 5 years' experience in managerial capacity /li liStrong knowledge of ocean freight, operations and rate management /li liSkilled in building customer and vendor relationships /li liCommercially savvy with a growth mindset /li liHands-on leader with a passion for teamwork and results /li liFamiliarity with Cargowise One will be advantageous /li /ul /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
