On-Call IT Field Technician – PC, Mac, TV Configuration, Printer & Scanner Support
Location:Multiple U.S. Cities (Local, Onsite Support)
Job Type:Independent Contractor *****)
Pay:$40–$45/hour (on-site) + mileage reimbursement over 20 miles one way
Schedule:Flexible – You accept jobs based on your availability

About the Role
We're hiringfield IT technicianswho can confidently support a wide range of tech needs for residential and small business customers.
This includestroubleshooting PCs and Macs, resolvingnetwork issues, andrepairing or configuring printers/scanners— including issues likeCanon MF printer network setuporG-series ink absorber error codes(e.g., ****).
You'll be dispatched to customer sites, work independently, and complete service calls efficiently and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair hardware/software issues on Windows and macOS systems
Resolve boot errors, OS issues, and login problems
Set up or troubleshoot Wi-Fi and wired internet connections
Replace or upgrade hardware (HDD, RAM, cooling fans, etc.)
Configure or connect printers and scanners (Canon, HP, Brother, etc.)
Address common printer error codes (e.g., ink absorber,



paper feed, connectivity)
Perform general maintenance on multifunction printers (MFPs)
Reinstall operating systems using bootable USBs or recovery media
Install remote tools or shortcuts as requested
Communicate clearly with customers and provide basic post-service support
Document service visits and escalate complex issues as needed
2+ years of field IT support experience, including computer and printer work
Familiarity withCanon,HP, and other common printer brands
Knowledge of error code troubleshooting (e.g., Canon code ****, boot issues, driver conflicts)
Experience with bothWindows ******)andmacOStroubleshooting
Must have personal tools (bootable USB, screwdriver set, etc.)
Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license
Smartphone with camera and data for documentation and communication
Ability to work independently and maintain a professional demeanor
Compensation
$40–$45 per hourfor on-site time
Mileage reimbursementfor travel over 20 miles (one way)
