Let's See Italy
The company
Let's See Italy is an established Rome-based tour operator specialising in guided experiences at the city's principal archaeological and cultural sites, alongside a portfolio of culinary experiences. We operate across the major international distribution platforms and maintain a substantial direct audience. The company is entering a period of planned expansion across product range, language offering, and distribution.
The position
We are seeking a General Manager to assume full operational leadership of the business. The role carries responsibility for commercial performance, operational delivery, team leadership, and — critically — the company's institutional relationships with the sites at which we operate.
This is a senior appointment with genuine autonomy and accountability.
Principal responsibilities
Institutional and site relations
- Manage and develop the company's relationships with Parco Archeologico del Colosseo, the Vatican Museums, and other principal sites, including allocation agreements, access arrangements, and compliance with site regulations
- Represent the company with ticketing concessionaires, cultural institutions, and industry bodies
- Anticipate and respond to changes in site access policy, working to secure and protect the company's operating position
- Develop commercial partnerships with museums, and local operators to expand offerings outside of Rome
Operations and delivery
- Direct day-to-day operations across tours, guiding, ticketing, and customer service
- Lead a team of approximately eight, comprising operations, guide management, ticketing, and customer care functions
- Establish and maintain guide performance standards, training, and quality assurance across an expanding guide roster
- Ensure operational compliance with Italian regulations governing licensed guiding and tour operation
Commercial and financial
- Hold accountability for the operational P&L;, including margin by product, cost control, and capacity planning
- Deliver the company's product roadmap, including expansion of language offering, introduction of new tour tiers, and relaunch of existing paused products
- Work with the company's accounting and labour advisors on budgeting, forecasting, and workforce planning
- Oversee distribution performance across OTA channels and support the development of new booking channels
Essential requirements
- Fluency in both Italian and English, written and spoken. Both are used daily and at a professional level — Italian with institutions, suppliers; English with our internal staff, international customer base and distribution partners
- Demonstrable managerial experience within a tour operator, DMC, or comparable guided-experience business. Experience must be in operating tours, not adjacent hospitality
- Established understanding of how business is conducted in Rome — the institutional landscape, the concession and ticketing environment, the seasonal rhythm of the city, and the informal conventions that govern relationships with sites, suppliers, and guides. This is not a market that can be learned from a distance
- Minimum five years in an operations or general management capacity, including direct line management of a team
- Prior budget or P&L; accountability
- Right to work in Italy
Desirable
- Existing relationships within Rome's cultural site and ticketing ecosystem
- Experience with OTA distribution and channel management (GetYourGuide, Viator, Klook, Expedia or comparable)
- Familiarity with reservation platforms (Rezdy, Ventrata, FareHarbor or similar), including migration experience
- Knowledge of Italian tour guide licensing requirements and CCNL Turismo
- Additional European languages
What we offer
- Competitive salary with performance-related premio
- Substantial autonomy and direct influence over the direction of the business
- A stable, profitable operator with a defined growth plan
Application Please submit a CV together with a covering letter addressing:
- Your managerial experience within tour operations — scale of business, team size, and scope of accountability
- Your experience managing institutional or site relationships in Rome or a comparable market
- Your record of commercial or P&L; responsibility
- Notice period and salary expectations
