The R&D; Product Development Engineer (Tooling) will be part of a team responsible for developing industrial termination machines for the appliance industry.
These machines are used for the high-volume production of wire harnesses, integrating wires, connectors, and terminals in automated manufacturing processes.
Your main tasks:
- Lead machine development projects throughout the full lifecycle, from concept definition to design, validation, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning.
- Act as the technical lead for assigned projects, coordinating cross-functional teams.
- Drive innovation by identifying new technologies and industry trends to enhance product competitiveness.
- Develop machines that meet customer and market requirements for performance, quality, cost, reliability, and lead time.
- Collaborate with global suppliers and development partners, including review and approval of supplier designs.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards, including CE requirements.
- Lead problem-solving, root-cause analysis,
and risk assessment activities, including FMEA, to ensure robust and reliable machine designs.
- Give on-site support to machine testing, troubleshooting, installation, startup, and commissioning.
- Prepare and maintain technical specifications, design documentation, and detailed mechanical drawings.
- Review designs to ensure technical feasibility, manufacturability, maintainability, and cost-effectiveness.
Your ideal background:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- More than 3 years of experience in product development and engineering.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial automation.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and mechatronic design.
