ABOUT THE ROLE – Structural Engineer – Modularization (Oil & Gas / EPC Projects)
We are looking for a Structural Engineer with strong experience in modularization to join a complex international EPC project, to be based at the Contractor’s premises.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the resource will be responsible for the structural design and verification of industrial plants, with a specific focus on modular structures (skids, prefabricated modules), ensuring compliance with international codes, project specifications, and schedule requirements.
The role will support the multidisciplinary project team (layout, piping, process, electrical) by providing structural design, analysis, and technical documentation, enabling efficient coordination between engineering, fabrication, and site execution.
Location: Milan (at Contractor’s premises)
Start date: October/November 2026 – through December 2027
Key Responsibilities
1. Structural Design & Analysis
Design and verify steel structures for industrial plants, with focus on modular/skid structures.
Conduct structural analysis using FEA-based software in line with international codes.
Manage structural aspects of process towers and technological steel structures.
Identify and resolve technical challenges ensuring design compliance.
2. Coordination & Detail Design
Prepare technical specifications for modular structures.
Coordinate with external suppliers’ engineering teams for detail design of technological steel structures.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (layout, process, piping, electrical) to meet project milestones within budget and schedule constraints.
3. Site & Fabrication Support
Provide technical support during fabrication and erection of modular structures.
Resolve technical queries and engage directly with Contractor and Client representatives.
Conduct site inspections to ensure construction adherence to structural drawings.
4. Reporting & Documentation
Produce technical reports documenting structural analysis and results.
Maintain structural drawings and design documentation in line with project standards.
Project Scope & Interfaces
Key activities: Yard fabrication, module assembly, structural steel erection, vendor coordination, interface with process/piping/electrical disciplines.
Challenges: Coordination of modular design across multiple disciplines, compliance with international codes, tight project schedule.
Interfaces: Contractor, Client, vendors, fabrication yards, construction sites, multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Requirements
Master’s Degree in Structural/Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
Proven experience as Structural Engineer in EPC/industrial plant contexts.
Direct, hands-on experience in modularization (design of modular/skid structures) — mandatory.
Strong proficiency in structural analysis software (SAP2000, Midas Gen, ETABS, Tekla or equivalent).
Solid knowledge of international codes and standards (Eurocodes, AISC, ACI, ASCE).
Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Availability starting October/November 2026.
The salary for this role ranges from €[60.000] to €[80.000]
The position is governed by the National Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL) for the Commerce and Tertiary Sector applied by our company.
The final salary within the stated range will be determined based on the candidate’s technical skills, relevant experience in the role, and the outcome of the selection process, using objective and neutral criteria.
In exceptional cases, where a candidate’s profile significantly exceeds the requirements associated with the stated salary range, a review of the compensation may be considered, subject to internal approval.
