Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced IBM DB2 Database Administrator with 5-7 years of hands on experience in managing administering and optimizing enterprise DB2 database environments The candidate will be responsible for installation configuration performance tuning backup recovery security administration and operational support of mission critical DB2 databases
Key Responsibilities
- Install configure upgrade and maintain IBM DB2 database environments
- Perform database administration activities including backup recovery patching and migrations
- Monitor database health performance and availability
- Analyze and resolve database performance bottlenecks
- Implement and maintain High Availability HA and Disaster Recovery DR solutions
- Configure and manage database security user access and auditing controls
- Troubleshoot database incidents service requests and change requests
- Perform database capacity planning and storage management
- Develop and maintain database scripts procedures and operational documentation
- Work closely with infrastructure application and project teams to ensure stable and secure database operations
- Participate in oncall support and critical incident management when required
Required Skills
- 5-7 years of experience as a Database Administrator with strong expertise in IBM DB2 LUW
- Strong knowledge of DB2 Installation Configuration
- Backup Recovery
- Performance Tuning Optimization
- HADR High Availability Disaster Recovery
- Database Security User Management
- Partitioning and Replication
- Database Monitoring Troubleshooting
- Experience on Linux Unix platforms
- Strong SQL scripting skills
- Experience with database upgrades migrations and patch management
- Knowledge of ITIL processes Incident Change and Problem Management
- Experience with monitoring tools and automation scripting Shell Python preferred
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to Oracle PostgreSQL MSSQL or MongoDB administration
- Experience in banking payments or large enterprise environments
- Knowledge of cloud database platforms is an added advantage
- IBM DB2 Certification preferred
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Ability to work independently and in a multicultural global environment
- Team player with a proactive and customerfocused approach
