The RoleThe Market Strategy Manager will lead the commercial optimisation of Sonnedix’s participation in the Italian wholesale electricity markets, with a particular focus on Day-Ahead, intraday and Ancillary Services markets. The role will be responsible for developing and executing effective short-term market and bidding strategies, overseeing the Route-to-Market framework, and analysing market performance to maximise revenues while identifying and managing commercial and market risks. By monitoring market dynamics, competitor activity and regulatory developments, the successful candidate will provide actionable insights that support Sonnedix’s competitive positioning and commercial objectives.

The RoleWorking collaboratively across commercial operations, short-term energy management, asset management and regulatory teams, the Market Strategy Manager will also contribute to the development of forecasting, valuation and bidding optimisation tools for solar PV and battery energy storage assets. The role will use data-driven analysis, scenario modelling and performance reporting to support informed decision-making, improve asset value and ensure effective, compliant market participation.
What we're looking for:
- Strong understanding of Italian power markets, including Day-Ahead, intraday and Ancillary Services markets, with an awareness of market dynamics and pricing drivers
- Experience developing, implementing and optimising short-term trading or bidding strategies for renewable energy generation and/or battery energy storage assets
- Understanding of Route-to-Market models and frameworks, including commercial optimisation, market access, compliance and the technical performance of assets
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and translate findings into actionable strategies.
- Ability to work effectively with commercial, energy management, asset management,
regulatory and other teams to develop and deliver commercially focused solutions
- A strong interest in using technology, data and digital tools to improve efficiency, automate repetitive tasks and streamline processes. Able to identify opportunities to reduce manual effort, accelerate analysis and decision-making, and use technology to make ways of working more effective and scalable.

In line with EU pay transparency requirements, salary ranges will be shared with candidates in the EU before progressing to the next stage of the recruitment process, and always before interview. This range reflects the typical starting pay for new hires. Pay above this level may apply in specific circumstances based on experience, skills, or role scope.
