Experienced Primary English Teacher – RomeA prestigious Catholic school in the EUR area of Rome is seeking an experienced English teacher to join its Primary School team for the 2026–2027 academic year.START DATE: Immediate

CONTRACT TYPE: Full-time

TEACHING HOURS: 24 hours per week

LOCATION: Rome – EUR

CONTRACT DURATION: Full 2026–2027 academic year THE ROLE The successful candidate will join an established English Department and teach English to primary-aged students within a structured academic programme.

We are looking for an experienced, reliable and highly organized classroom teacher with strong classroom-management skills and a collaborative approach to teaching and learning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate English lessons
- Create and maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment
- Teach phonics and grammar using Jolly Phonics and Jolly Grammar
- Prepare students for Trinity GESE Grade 1 and Cambridge Young Learners English (YLE) examinations
- Assess and monitor student learning and progress
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure continuity and progression across the Primary School




- Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues and families
- Participate in departmental meetings, professional development and school activities as required

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Candidates should have

- A university degree
- CELTA or equivalent recognized English-language teaching qualification
- Proven classroom teaching experience in a Primary School setting
- Native-level or near-native English proficiency
- Experience with Jolly Phonics and Jolly Grammar
- Experience preparing young learners for Trinity GESE and/or Cambridge Young Learners English (YLE) examinations
- Strong classroom-management, lesson-planning and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills
- The legal right to work in Italy
