The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and management of all maintenance activities related to the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express carriages and related equipment.
This role ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the rolling stock by implementing effective maintenance strategies, managing a team of maintenance technicians, and adhering to all relevant regulations and standards (ECM ********).
The VSOE Maintenance Manager will also be responsible for budget management, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiative, under the leadership of the Engineering Manager.
Requirements
Maintenance Planning & Strategy :
Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance plans and strategies to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the VSOE carriages
Conduct regular inspections and assessments of the rolling stock to identify maintenance needs
Develop and manage a preventive & corrective maintenance program to minimize equipment failures and downtime
Monitoring of the maintenance plan, together with Fleet Supervisor (ECM3), following the ECM Standard ********
Maintenance Execution and Supervision:
Oversee the execution of maintenance tasks, ensuring that work is performed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality and ECM standards
Troubleshoot and resolve complex maintenance issues, providing technical guidance and support to the maintenance team




Coordinate with other departments, such as operations and on-board Staff, to minimize disruptions to railway service
Manage maintenance resources, including equipment, materials, and tools, to ensure their availability and proper utilization
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes, reduce costs, and improve the reliability of the VSOE Carriages
ECM 4:
Ensure compliance with ECM regulations, standards, and safety requirements
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation to meet regulatory requirements
Liaise with national safety agencies and participate in audits and inspections
Analyze maintenance data to identify trends and areas for improvement
Develop and implement emergency response plans for maintenance-related incidents, such as derailments, equipment failures, and severe weather events
Inventory Management:
Manage the inventory of spare parts and materials, ensuring that adequate supplies are available to meet maintenance needs
Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste and obsolescence
Budget Management:
Develop and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring that expenditures are within approved limits, Prepare and submit budget reports to management
