Senior Composite Project Engineer – Carbon Fiber BIWDesign Consulting is looking for an experienced Senior Composite Project Engineer to join a prestigious automotive development program focused on Carbon Fiber Body-in-White (BIW) components.This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge vehicle development projects, managing the complete engineering lifecycle from concept and feasibility through validation, industrialization and Start of Production (SOP).The successful candidate will act as the technical interface between suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams, ensuring quality, timing and technical excellence throughout the project.Your ResponsibilitiesLead the engineering development of Carbon Fiber BIW components.Manage the complete product development lifecycle from feasibility to SOP.Coordinate suppliers and internal engineering teams.Lead technical convergence meetings and engineering reviews.Prepare and maintain Technical Specifications.Develop and maintain DFMEA documentation.Define and manage Component & System DVPs.Manage Engineering Releases and Engineering Changes.Support technical issue resolution during development and validation.Monitor project timing, milestones and engineering deliverables.Maintain Engineering BOM and related documentation.Support Purchasing during supplier technical evaluations and quotation reviews.Support prototype builds,
validation activities and production launch.Prepare technical reports and project documentation.Required ExperienceMinimum 3 years of experience in Automotive Product Development.Proven experience with Carbon Fiber / CFRP / Composite Components.Experience with Body-in-White (BIW) development.Experience with vehicle structures or exterior structural components.Experience coordinating Tier-1 suppliers.Experience leading engineering development activities.Good understanding of the complete automotive product development process from Concept to SOP.Good understanding of vehicle platform layout.Experience with Engineering Change Management.Experience working in cross-functional engineering teams.Preferred Technical SkillsExperience with one or more of the following:Technical SpecificationsDFMEADVPEngineering BOMSAPPLM Systems (Teamcenter, 3DEXPERIENCE or equivalent)Engineering Change ManagementCost ManagementAPQP / PPAPPrototype Build SupportProduction LaunchTechnical DocumentationLanguagesItalian – Fluent (Mandatory)Applications from candidates who are not fluent in Italian cannot be considered. xysqume English – Minimum B2 level.Soft SkillsStrong technical leadershipExcellent communication skillsSupplier managementProblem solvingDecision makingPlanning and organizationProactive attitudeAttention to detailTeam player
