With manufacturing, operations and sales, service, and support functions across the globe, your journey at Tennant can take you to places you never expected.ABOUT THE ROLETo strengthen our R&D; Department, we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer – Plastic Components who will focus on the design and development of plastic parts and assemblies.In this role, you will contribute across the full product development lifecycle—from concept to production—working in close collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Production Engineering, Product Certification, and Service.You will play a key role in ensuring that plastic components meet performance, cost, and manufacturability targets, supporting both new product development and continuous improvement initiatives.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIESDesign and develop mechanical components and assemblies with a focus on plastic partsEnsure designs meet functional, manufacturing,
and cost requirementsCreate and maintain 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD toolsManage Bills of Materials (BOM) and related data within the PLM systemSupport prototyping, testing, and validation activitiesSelect suitable plastic materials and define appropriate manufacturing processes (e.G., injection molding)Ensure compliance with product certification standards and quality requirementsPrepare and maintain technical documentation throughout the development processCollaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to optimize design and industrializationSKILLS & EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalentPrevious experience in mechanical design, with exposure to plastic components (entry-level profiles also considered)Good knowledge of 3D CAD tools (preferably PTC Creo)Familiarity with PLM systems (Windchill is a plus)Understanding of plastic materials and manufacturing processes, especially injection moldingFluency in English, both written and spokenStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsGood organizational and multitasking abilitiesProactive, structured, and team-oriented mindsetThe offer includes direct employment with the company on a permanent contract, with a gross annual salary ranging from €34,000 to €45,000.The indicated salary range reflects the expected compensation for the role and is defined based on objective criteria related to the job, including responsibilities, scope, and market benchmarks.
Placement within the range will depend on factors such as experience, qualifications, demonstrated capabilities, and internal equity.
