Company Description The Pan African Youth Conference 2026 is a continental gathering focused on empowering young people across Africa through dialogue, education, and collaborative action. The conference brings together youth leaders, professionals, and experts to address critical social, environmental, and economic issues affecting the continent. It leverages digital platforms and remote collaboration to engage participants from diverse regions and backgrounds.

As part of its programming, the conference integrates scientific and environmental perspectives to inform youth-led initiatives and policy discussions.

Role Description The Zoologist role at the Pan African Youth Conference 2026 is a full-time remote position focused on providing scientific expertise on wildlife, animal behavior, and ecology for youth-focused programs and discussions. Day-to-day tasks include researching zoological and ecological topics relevant to African ecosystems, preparing educational materials and presentations, and contributing to reports and policy briefs. The Zoologist will collaborate with organizers, youth delegates, and partner organizations to design content for workshops, webinars, and panel sessions that promote wildlife conservation and sustainable environmental practices.

The role also involves reviewing and synthesizing scientific data,



advising on best practices for animal care and wildlife protection, and supporting outreach initiatives that raise awareness among young people about biodiversity and conservation challenges.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Zoology and Wildlife sciences, with the ability to apply these skills to African ecosystems and youth-focused initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience in Animal Care and Animal Behavior, including understanding of ethical treatment, husbandry principles, and behavioral analysis.
- Knowledge of Ecology and ecosystem dynamics, particularly in relation to conservation, biodiversity, and human–wildlife interactions.
- Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly to non-specialist audiences, especially young people, through written, visual, and oral formats.
- Experience with scientific research methods, data analysis, and literature review, preferably related to wildlife or conservation topics.
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Zoology, Wildlife Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a closely related field.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently and effectively in a remote, multicultural environment.
- Previous experience in education, outreach, youth engagement, or conference/program development is an asset.
