Commissioning Engineer – Mechanical/Piping

to join an important

Oil & Gas / Energy

project. Reporting to the

Hook-Up & Commissioning Superintendent

, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and executing

Mechanical/Piping Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning activities

, ensuring that systems are complete, safe and operational in accordance with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities Pre-Commissioning & Commissioning Supervise flushing, cleaning, hydrostatic/pneumatic testing, air blowing and leak testing of piping systems. Support installation checks and pre-start-up verifications for pumps, compressors, vessels, exchangers and piping. Verify alignment, grouting, bolt torquing and lubrication of rotating equipment. Witness equipment rotation checks, vibration checks and functional tests in accordance with OEM procedures. Verify mechanical and piping system integrity, reinstatement and punch list clearance. Support troubleshooting activities during start-up.

Planning & Coordination Prepare commissioning procedures, test packs and checklists for Mechanical/Piping systems. Coordinate with Construction, QA/QC, Vendors, Operations and Instrumentation teams to ensure system readiness. Monitor

Mechanical Completion

progress and system handover activities. Participate in system walkdowns and redline drawing updates.



Contribute to the preparation and compilation of commissioning dossiers.

Handover & System Completion Manage the handover of Mechanical/Piping systems from Construction to Commissioning and subsequently to Operations. Ensure all technical documentation is properly collected and recorded, including test reports, torque certificates and as-built documentation. Support reliability runs, performance testing and final acceptance activities with the Client and Operations teams.

HSE Ensure that all commissioning activities are carried out in compliance with

PTW, LOTO

and project HSE procedures. Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments and safety meetings. Promptly report incidents, near misses and equipment anomalies. Stop unsafe activities whenever necessary.

Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering

or equivalent qualification. At least

8 years of experience

in Mechanical/Piping activities after obtaining the degree. Previous experience in

Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning

activities within the Oil & Gas, Energy or industrial plant sectors. Knowledge of

ASME, API, ISO

and project-specific standards. Ability to read and interpret

P&IDs;, isometric drawings, test packs, equipment datasheets and vendor drawings

. Experience with Commissioning/Completion Management systems such as

ICAPS, WinPCS, CMS

or equivalent. Strong problem-solving skills during start-up and troubleshooting activities. Excellent coordination and communication skills within multidisciplinary teams.



Excellent written and spoken English

, with proven ability to prepare technical reports.

Key Competencies Strong technical background in Mechanical/Piping. Strong focus on safety and quality. Ability to work in multidisciplinary and international environments. Excellent organizational and priority-management skills. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to react effectively during start-up activities. High attention to detail in commissioning documentation. Strong interpersonal and coordination skills across Construction, Commissioning, Operations and Vendor teams.

The salary for this role ranges from

€40.000 to €50.000 The position is governed by the

National Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL) for the Commerce and Tertiary Sector

applied by our company. The final salary within the stated range will be determined based on the candidate's technical skills, relevant experience in the role, and the outcome of the selection process, using objective and neutral criteria. In exceptional cases, where a candidate's profile significantly exceeds the requirements associated with the stated salary range, a review of the compensation may be considered, subject to internal approval.
