Engineers will be expected to investigate faults, analyse PLC logic, identify root causes and provide clear recommendations and corrective actions to improve equipment reliability and production performance. /ppThis is not primarily a greenfield PLC programming role. The emphasis is on strongfault finding, diagnostics, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and production support /strong. /ppThe initial assignment is expected to run for strong3–6 months /strong, with engineers working fully onsite as part of a rotating three-shift schedule. /ppKey Responsibilities /ppThe successful engineers will be responsible for: /pulliTroubleshooting strongSiemens PLC-controlled production equipment /strong /liliWorking extensively with strongSiemens TIA Portal /strong /liliGoing online with PLCs to diagnose faults and production issues /liliAnalysing existing PLC logic, sequences and interlocks /liliInvestigating recurring production stoppages and equipment downtime /liliIdentifying whether faults originate from PLC software, electrical systems, sensors, drives, instrumentation, communications or mechanical equipment /liliSupporting troubleshooting of automated machinery and production lines /liliIdentifying bottlenecks,
intermittent faults and reliability issues /liliCarrying out root-cause analysis /liliRecommending corrective actions and technical improvements /liliProducing clear strongaction lists /strong outlining issues, priorities and recommended solutions /liliSupporting implementation and testing of corrective actions where required /liliWorking closely with production, maintenance and engineering personnel /liliDocumenting technical findings and any software modifications made /li /ulpThe key requirement is the ability to strongsystematically diagnose why automated equipment is not performing correctly and determine the most effective solution /strong. /ppShift Pattern /ppThe assignment will operate across a strongthree-shift rotation /strong: /pullistrongMorning: /strong 06:00–15:00 /lilistrongAfternoon: /strong 14:00–22:00 /lilistrongNight: /strong 21:00–06:00 /li /ulpCandidates must be comfortable working across the rotating shift pattern for the duration of the assignment. /ppTechnical Background /ppStrong hands-on experience with the following is highly desirable: /pullistrongSiemens TIA Portal /strong /liliSiemens strongS7 PLCs /strong /liliS7-1200 / S7-1500 /liliPLC diagnostics and online troubleshooting /liliLadder Logic, FBD and/or Structured Text / SCL /liliSiemens HMI systems /liliWinCC / HMI troubleshooting /liliIndustrial Ethernet / Profinet /liliDrives and motor control /liliSensors, actuators and field devices /liliAutomated machinery and production lines /liliElectrical fault finding /liliMachine sequencing and interlocks /liliMachine commissioning and start-up /liliProduction troubleshooting /liliRoot-cause analysis /li /ulpExperience with strongOmron PLC systems /strong, such as strongSysmac Studio or CX-Programmer /strong, would be useful but is strongnot the primary requirement /strong. /ppExperience with other platforms such as Rockwell / Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff or Mitsubishi may also be beneficial.
