Join Schindler as a Senior Mechanical Engineer (m/f/d)We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to strengthen our R&D; Mechanical Engineering team.
In this role, you will act as a subject matter expert, responsible for the design, development and validation of mechanical solutions for elevator systems and components.
You will drive engineering activities from concept through release, provide technical guidance to the team and ensure that solutions meet the highest standards of quality, performance, safety and cost efficiency.
You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and support the growth of junior engineers through mentoring, knowledge sharing and technical coaching.

Schindler GroupYour ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will contribute to the development and industrialization of innovative mechanical solutions for elevator products.
Your responsibilities include: Leading the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies for elevator systems, ensuring compliance with technical, safety and quality requirementsCreating and reviewing 3D models, drawings and engineering documentation using PTC Creo and managing product data within WindchillDriving technical decision-making and providing engineering guidance across development projects and design reviewsPerforming engineering calculations, tolerance analysis and technical validations to ensure robust and reliable solutionsSupporting product verification, prototyping and testing activities, analyzing results and implementing corrective actions when requiredEnsuring design-to-cost, manufacturability, maintainability and serviceability throughout the product lifecycleCoordinating with cross-functional teams including R&D;, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality and Supply ChainActing as a technical mentor for junior engineers, supporting their development and promoting engineering excellence within the teamWhat You Bring (Required Qualifications)Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical EngineeringSeveral years of experience in mechanical design and product development within industrial engineering environmentsAdvanced proficiency in PTC Creo for 3D modeling,
assemblies and detailed engineering designStrong experience with Windchill and engineering documentation/release processesProven experience in technical leadership, coordination of engineering activities and mentoring of less experienced engineersStrong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials and manufacturing processesExperience performing engineering calculations, tolerance analysis and technical problem-solvingAbility to work effectively within international and cross-functional teamsStrong communication, decision-making and stakeholder management skillsHigh level of self-motivation, accountability and result orientationEnglish — Medium to AdvancedQualifications That Will Strengthen Your Profile (Nice to Have)Experience in the elevator, escalator or vertical transportation industryExperience in the design and development of elevator mechanical componentsFamiliarity with validation testing, FEM analysis and product verification activitiesExperience supporting industrialization and manufacturing optimization initiativesGerman language skillsExperience working within global R&D; organizations and international product development projectsReady to Elevate Your Career?
