We are currently recruiting for an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to join a leading international engineering organisation on a major data centre project in Milan, Italy. This is a senior technical leadership role with genuine ownership of the electrical engineering scope, covering design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning and handover.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for: Leading electrical engineering delivery across the project Managing and coordinating the electrical engineering team Reviewing electrical designs and identifying technical gaps and risks Working across LV and MV electrical systems Validating cable sizing and technical assessments Preparing and managing electrical technical submittals Coordinating design with BIM and construction teams Supporting electrical equipment procurement and vendor management Providing technical support throughout installation Conducting electrical system walkdowns Managing specialist vendors during commissioning Coordinating testing, commissioning and system handover Compiling test packs, FTOPs and O&M; documentation Supporting client training Managing technical interfaces with clients, designers, contractors and suppliers Supporting programme,
QA and EHS requirements Mentoring and developing project and graduate engineers We’re Looking For You’ll ideally have: ~7+ years’ electrical project engineering experience ~ Degree or equivalent in Electrical or Building Services Engineering ~ Strong LV/MV experience ~ Major construction project experience ~ Data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial or other mission-critical experience ~ Strong knowledge of electrical regulations and design standards ~ Experience with ETCI, BS 7671, EN and IEC standards ~ Strong technical submittal and design review experience ~ Experience with electrical installation, testing and commissioning ~ Strong client, consultant, vendor and contractor management experience ~ Excellent technical problem-solving and decision-making skills ~ Strong leadership and communication skills ~ Experience mentoring and developing engineers Experience with Amtech, DIALux, AutoCAD 2D, Adobe Pro and MS Office would be advantageous. This is an excellent opportunity for a Lead Electrical Engineer looking to take genuine ownership of electrical engineering delivery on a technically complex, mission-critical data centre project.
