ACME Portable Computer GmbH is expanding its footprint within the Italian defense, aerospace, and homeland security sectors. For over 30 years, ACME has engineered and manufactured rugged portable computers, deployable workstations, and mission-critical hardware platforms for defense organizations, system integrators, and prime contractors globally.
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Partner on a B2B basis to lead market development, build strategic institutional and commercial relationships, and drive hardware integration projects across Italy.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Development: Identify, qualify, and develop new commercial opportunities across the Italian Defense, Homeland Security, and Government sectors.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain relationships with Program Managers, Systems Engineers, Technical Leads, and procurement specialists across defense agencies, armed forces, prime contractors, and system integrators.
- Pipeline & Account Management: Manage the end-to-end commercial cycle from lead identification and technical alignment to contract execution.
- Solution Representation: Represent ACME's rugged computing platforms during client demonstrations, technical workshops, and national defense exhibitions (e.g., SeaFuture, aerospace/defense forums).
- Technical Collaboration: Liaise directly with our engineering and manufacturing teams in Karlsruhe, Germany,
to align hardware configurations with client-specific mission requirements.
Qualifications & Profile
- Sector Experience: Proven track record in business development, technical sales, or commercial consulting within the Defense, Aerospace, Military, or Secure Government Computing domains.
- Industry Ecosystem: Familiarity with the Italian defense procurement landscape, prime contractor networks, and system integration workflows.
- Legal & Commercial Status: Registered to operate independently as a commercial entity or consultant (e.g., Partita IVA / independent commercial contractor) with the legal authorization to provide services and invoice within Italy and the EU.
- Language Skills: Full professional proficiency in Italian and professional working proficiency in English. German proficiency is a valuable asset.
- Autonomy: High degree of self-direction in pipeline management, with availability for domestic travel for key client engagements and technical demonstrations.
