By embracing diversity, we believe science can achieve its fullest potential. **THE ROLE** The Molecular Modeling and Drug Discovery research unit is coordinated by Dr. Marco De Vivo, who has extensive experience in small-molecule drug discovery. Within the team, your main responsibility will be to work on the following topics: - Enzyme-based _in vitro_ assay setup and characterization of the activity and mechanism of action of small molecules _in vitro_.
- Protein crystallization and structure determination.
- Mammalian cell culture techniques and characterization of the mechanism of action of small molecules in cell-based assays using human cancer cell lines.
- Characterization of protein-protein and/or protein-ligand interaction using biophysical methods such as ITC, MST or SPR.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques, such as cloning, site-directed mutagenesis, PCR, western blotting, etc.
- Be familiar with imaging techniques and with quantitative image analysis. This open position/research is financed by AIRC - Foundation for Cancer Research in Italy within the AIRC IG 2024 - De Vivo - Rif. 30631" - "Design and characterization of RHOA interaction inhibitors to treat early-stage melanoma tumors" **ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENT**
- A_ _PhD degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Biotechnology or closely related fields, with a strong record of research productivity
- A strong publication record
- The ability to properly report, organize and publish research data
- Documented experience in coaching junior scientists
