Starting DateAs soon as possible LocationItaly Role PurposeThe Country Manager Italy will lead and expand the company’s Italian business, overseeing the development, permitting, financing, M&A and strategic growth of a large pipeline of PV and BESS projects. The role combines market leadership, business development, project portfolio management, stakeholder engagement, and team coordination, ensuring the successful execution of the company’s strategy in Italy. Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and execute the company’s strategic plan in Italy for PV, agri-pv and BESS projects.Lead the Italian business unit, coordinating internal teams, consultants, and external development partners.Originate and evaluate new development opportunities, partnerships, acquisitions, and investment opportunities.Oversee the full project development lifecycle, including site origination, land agreements, permitting, grid connection, environmental assessments, and project bankability.Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including landowners, municipalities, regional authorities, TERNA, DSOs, investors, advisors, and strategic partners.Monitor the Italian regulatory framework and market developments, identifying risks, opportunities, and competitive dynamics.Drive project portfolio performance, ensuring development milestones, budgets, timelines, and quality standards are achieved.Play a leading role in financing, M&A, and project sale processes by leading due diligence activities, contractual negotiations and presenting opportunities to investors and lenders.Prepare business cases, investment memoranda, market analyses, and regular management reports.Build and manage local teams,
fostering a high-performance and entrepreneurial culture.Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings with public and private stakeholders.Ensure compliance with corporate governance and internal reporting requirements. Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Energy Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in renewable energy, with significant exposure to the Italian PV and/or BESS market.
- Proven track record in project development, business development, investment management, or country leadership roles.
- Strong understanding of Italian permitting processes, grid connection procedures, and energy market regulations.
- Solid commercial and financial acumen, including project valuation, project finance, and transaction processes.
- Established network within the Italian renewable energy sector is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate independently and drive results.
- Fluent Italian and English are required; additional languages are a plus.
- Willingness to travel regularly within Italy and internationally. What We Offer
