ppThe Infrastructure and Digital Mapping Technician is responsible for ensuring the organisation's infrastructure, asset, and spatial information is accurate, accessible, and of high quality. They achieve this through ArcGIS and Esri software. /ppThe role supports the management of digital records, data governance, mapping standards and business processes through the use of ArcGIS, Esri tools, Utility Network, CAD systems and related tech. The postholder will play a significant role in driving projects passionate about advancing digital modernisation, including Digital Twin development, system integration, automation and process improvement. /ppWorking closely with Engineering, Operations, Planning, Construction, and Customer teams, the successful candidate will help ensure infrastructure information is reliable and accessible. They will also ensure it is fit for operational, regulatory, and strategic decision making. /ph3Asset and Infrastructure Data Management /h3ulliMaintain accurate records of infrastructure assets, premises, services and network information within ArcGIS and related business systems. /liliEnsure spatial information and asset-related records are accurate, complete, consistent and maintained to agreed standards. /liliSupport the ongoing migration, improvement and maintenance of Utility Network and physical asset data management systems. /li /ulh3Data Quality and Governance /h3ulliValidate, audit and improve data related to infrastructure and assets, identifying and resolving missing, duplicate or inconsistent information. /liliAssist in developing guidelines for coordinating geospatial and engineering information. /li /ulh3Mapping and Technical Support /h3ulliRespond to cable record and mapping requests from customers, contractors and internal team members. /liliSupport engineers and project teams with mapping, drawing, records and system-related enquiries. /liliAssist with the maintenance of CAD drawings, schematics, digital maps and user documentation as required. /liliProvide technical support for GIS, geospatial and infrastructure information system. /li /ulh3Field Survey and Verification /h3ulliUndertake site visits and field surveys when required to gather, verify and update infrastructure information. /liliUse GPS, and data gathering devices to support accurate mapping and asset records. /liliVerify infrastructure data against site observations and as-built information. /li /ulh3Digital Transformation and Ongoing Improvement /h3ulliSupport the delivery of Digital Twin, business system integration and wider digital transformation initiatives. /liliAssist in testing and implementing new digital tools, processes and technologies. /liliSupport integration between GIS, asset management, operational and business systems. /li /ulh3Essential /h3ulliExperience working with GIS (QGIS, ArcGIS, Esri products or similar), mapping, asset information or technical record systems. /liliSolid attention to detail with a commitment to data accuracy and quality. /liliGood analytical and problem-solving skills. /liliExperience handling and maintaining digital records and data sets. /liliStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
