BESS Commissioning Engineer - CHINESE SPEAKER REQUIRED
Location: Italy (on-site) + International assignments

Salary: Up to €85,000
Languages: Chinese & English (Mandatory), Italian (preffered)
Piper Maddox is supporting a leading energy technology company looking for a BESS Commissioning Engineer to support the delivery and commissioning of large-scale battery storage projects across Europe and international markets.
This is a hands-on site-based role, working across commissioning, testing, troubleshooting and project acceptance, while collaborating with engineering, project management, R&D; and after-sales teams.
Responsibilities
- Support the commissioning, testing and acceptance of utility-scale BESS projects .
- Commission and troubleshoot battery systems, including BMS, HVAC/liquid cooling, fire suppression, DC and auxiliary AC systems .
- Support the commissioning of PCS and EMS .
- Diagnose faults, resolve technical issues and manage defects through to closure.
- Participate in SAT, grid connection testing and project handover .
- Support customer training on system operation and maintenance.
- Work closely with Project Management, R&D;,
Quality and After-Sales teams to resolve site issues.
- Ensure all commissioning activities are completed safely and in line with EHS requirements.
- Travel extensively and undertake longer-term assignments at international project sites.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Renewable Energy, Communications Engineering or a related field.
- 1–3 years' experience in electrical commissioning, energy projects or a similar environment.
- Basic understanding of BESS, PV or power systems , including BMS, PCS and EMS.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and communication drawings .
- Knowledge of CAN, Modbus RTU/TCP or similar communication protocols.
- Understanding of electrical systems, grid connection or substation equipment is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills.
- English speaking skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively internationally.
Desirable
- Previous experience with BESS, solar PV or wind projects .
- LV/HV electrical qualifications.
- International project experience.
- Italian, Mandarin, Spanish or French language skills.
