ph3PAVER OPERATOR /h3 pThe Asphalt Paver Operator safely operates the paving machine to spread and level asphalt.
This position controls the paver and screed to produce a smooth, even surface that meets project plans and quality standards.
/p h3Key Responsibilities: /h3 ul liInspect the paver before and after each shift.
Report damage, safety concerns, and needed repairs.
/li liStart, operate, steer, and control the paving machine safely.
/li liCoordinate with truck drivers to maintain a steady flow of asphalt into the hopper.
/li liSet up, heat, and adjust the screed, including extensions and electronic controls.
/li liMonitor asphalt flow, mat thickness, grade, joints, edges, and surface quality.
/li liMatch paving joints and adjust the equipment to correct gaps, uneven areas, or material problems.
/li liFollow project plans, job-site instructions, company safety rules, and OSHA requirements.
/li liClean the equipment and complete basic preventive maintenance.
/li liHelp with traffic control, flagging, surface preparation, asphalt patching, and other crew duties as assigned.
/li liReport equipment, quality, and safety concerns to the Foreman or Superintendent.
/li liRepresent Bonness Inc. professionally at job sites and during all interactions with customers, inspectors, and the public.br/ /li /ul h3Requirements: /h3 ul liExperience operating an asphalt paver or similar heavy equipment is preferred.
/li liKnowledge of asphalt paving methods, materials, tools, and equipment.
/li liAbility to operate and adjust the paver and screed under changing job-site conditions.
/li liAbility to read and follow project plans, specifications, and work instructions.
/li liKnowledge of heavy-equipment hazards and job-site safety practices.
/li liAbility to communicate clearly with supervisors, truck drivers, and crew members.
/li liAbility to complete physical construction work and assist the crew when needed.
/li liValid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to travel to job sites.
/li liDependable attendance and ability to work well as part of a crew.
/li /ul h3Physical Requirements: /h3 pAbility to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, hear, communicate, and operate equipment for extended periods.
The position may require lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying up to 50 pounds.
Work is performed outdoors in changing weather and around traffic, hot asphalt, dust, construction materials, and moderate to high equipment noise.
Regular professional interaction with supervisors, crew members, customers, inspectors, and the public is required.br/ /p pAll work is local.
