Join us in making a positive impact on healthcare delivery as we strive for excellence in patient service. /p h3Overview /h3 pAs a Medical Assistant at Hometown Urgent Care, you will play a crucial role in supporting healthcare delivery by assisting healthcare professionals in various clinical and administrative tasks. Your contribution will be vital in ensuring the safety, welfare, and comfort of our patients. /p h3Duties /h3 ul liResponsible for taking patient history and obtain vital signs /li liPerform basic testing or screenings such as: vision, audio, urine drug screens, breath alcohol, EKGs, pulmonary function testing. /li liPerform necessary phlebotomy for collection of laboratory samples. /li liAccurately complete corresponding paperwork/computer work for lab tests ordered on blood, urine, tissue, and culture samples. /li liAble to perform subcutaneous, intradermal, and intramuscular injections and accurately complete paperwork according to policy for that procedure. /li liPerform point of care testing such as: strep, mono, glucose, influenza, Urine pregnancy, Urinalysis, blood glucose levels. /li liDispense and document medications and other treatment modalities. /li liInsure sterile technique, instrument cleaning and sterilization, proper use of the autoclave. /li liSchedule and coordinate necessary records for ancillary care for patients. /li liAssist providers with exams and testing (pelvic exams, eye irrigations and ear irrigations, I D’s and splinting/ ortho-glass preparation /li liPerform occupational medicine testing such as:
urine drug screens, breath alcohol testing, audiogram, and DOT physicals /li liMaintain confidentiality with all patient information (HIPAA). /li liEnsures equipment is in working order. Reports equipment malfunctions to manager. /li liLogs laboratory procedures completed. Processes related paperwork using computer equipment as directed. /li liResponsible for patient call backs, scheduling physician referrals; specialist’s referrals and pharmacy issues; and patient’s education. /li liMaintains examination rooms, sterilization of equipment and stocks necessary medical supplies. /li liPerforms duties to ensure good patient flow. /li liRegistration duties: explain to patients' accepted insurances and those out of network and knowledgeable of all pricing.
