This tempo parziale position requires a commitment of 10 hours per week, with shifts scheduled Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM and 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM.
PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION
The purpose of this classification is to ensure the safety and welfare of children when crossing roadways at designated school crossing sites.

The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Stops roadway traffic at a designated school crossing site for the purpose of providing safe crossing for school children.
- Maintains awareness of safety conditions at school crossing site for the purpose of ensuring safety and welfare of school children at all times.
- Directs both children and parents in safe crossing.
- Communicates with police personnel for the purpose of reporting any current or potential problem areas or concerns.




- Communicates with school personnel for the purpose of acquiring school related information, and/or providing information concerning issues with students/parents at school crossing site.

- Data Utilization: Requires the ability to compile, assemble, copy, record and/or transcribe data according to a prescribed schema or plan. Includes judging whether readily observable functional, structural or compositional characteristics are similar to or divergent from prescribed standards, procedures or routines.
- Human Interaction: Requires the ability to provide guidance, assistance, and/or interpretation to others regarding the application of procedures and standards to specific situations.
- Equipment, Machinery, Tools, and Materials Utilization: Requires the ability to start, stop, operate and monitor the functioning of equipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials used in performing essential functions.
