The Role
The Host/Hostess is the first and last impression of the guest experience at Suser Restaurant Group. This role is responsible for warmly welcoming guests, managing the flow of the dining room, and ensuring every guest feels valued from the moment they walk through the door to the moment they leave. A great Host/Hostess sets the tone for the entire dining experience and plays a vital role in the overall success of our restaurants.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome all guests with a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor upon arrival
- Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating charts to ensure efficient table turnover and an optimal guest experience
- Communicate accurately and clearly with guests regarding wait times and table availability
- Escort guests to their tables, present menus, and ensure they are comfortable before handing them off to their server
- Answer incoming phone calls professionally, assist with reservations, and respond to general inquiries
- Monitor the dining room flow and communicate with servers and management to coordinate seating and maintain a smooth service
- Assist with maintaining a clean and organized host stand, entrance, and dining area throughout the shift
- Manage to-go orders and curbside pickup as needed, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to guests
- Thank departing guests sincerely and invite them to return
- Support the overall front of house team with additional tasks as needed during service
- Uphold all company policies, health codes, and sanitation standards at all times
