ABOUT THE ROLE – Electrical Engineer
We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join an important Oil & Gas project.
Reporting to the Jacket Engineering Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the design, engineering, installation, testing and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment for Oil & Gas facilities, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, project specifications and safety requirements throughout all project phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and contribute to the design of electrical power distribution systems, including LV, MV and HV systems.
- Review Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), load lists, cable schedules, grounding and lighting layouts.
- Review electrical equipment selection, including transformers, switchgear, MCCs, UPS, batteries and motors.
- Support electrical system studies such as load flow, short circuit, arc flash and protection coordination.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, including IEC, NEC, IEEE, API, NEMA and ATEX.
Project Execution & Procurement
- Review vendor documentation and technical specifications.
- Prepare Material Requisitions (MRs), Technical Bid Evaluations (TBEs) and equipment datasheets.
- Interface with Engineering, Procurement and Construction teams to ensure proper integration of electrical systems with other disciplines.
- Support technical clarification and coordination activities with vendors and suppliers.
- Supervise electrical installation activities and verify compliance with approved designs and project standards.
- Support inspection, testing and pre-commissioning of electrical equipment.
- Participate in FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests) and SATs (Site Acceptance Tests).
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues during installation and commissioning.
Operations & Maintenance
- Provide technical support to Operations teams for troubleshooting and maintenance activities.
- Review condition-monitoring data, including IR
