Experteer Overview
As Senior Legal Counsel for the Italian branch, you own the legal work for customers, products, and regulatory interactions. You shape end-to-end product launches, draft client-facing documents, and manage relationships with regulators and external counsel. You will collaborate with branch managers and the group legal team in Germany to ensure compliant operations in Italy. Your decisions drive risk-aware, clear, and compliant outcomes in a fast-paced, multicultural fintech environment.
This role offers meaningful impact across product, governance, and regulatory affairs in a rapidly growing market.
Retribuzione / Benefits
- Draft and own customer documentation for Italy
- Lead end-to-end product launches from regulatory analysis to client-facing wording
- Serve as primary contact with regulators and external institutions (regulatory reports, requests)
- Draft, review and negotiate contracts with clients, partners and suppliers
- Instruct and manage external legal advisors and set engagement approach
- Oversee complaints and contentious cases (ABF/ACF, inheritance,



garnishment, insolvency)
- Support internal teams in setting up Italian market processes in line with local regulations
- Advise on branch governance, policies, and implementation of MiFID II, PSD II, CCD II, transparency and consumer protection requirements

Responsabilità
- Law degree
- >5 years experience in top-tier Italian or international law firms focused on banking and financial regulation; in-house banking or regulated fintech experience welcome
- Solid knowledge of Italian financial services regulation; familiarity with MiFID II, PSD2, CCD II is a strong plus
- Exceptional legal research and drafting skills
- Decisive, independent decision-maker who can decline unsuitable business moves
- Proven ability to prioritize across multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
- Full professional fluency in Italian and English
