Leonardo is one of the strategic industrial partners of the GCAP (Global Combat Air Programme) alongside the British BAE Systems and the Japanese Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, aimed at developing and implementing a new generation aerial system, defined as a “system of systems”. Used for multi-domain operations in the defense sector, the system will feature a “core platform” connected with other peripheral “adjunct” systems, both manned and unmanned. The program, among the most challenging and futuristic for the aerospace and defense industry, will drive the technological revolution that will characterize the sector over the next fifty years. A challenge aimed at strengthening the technological and industrial sovereignty of the countries involved, because it aims to identify and make available those innovative, enabling technologies that will ensure the generational leap, generating positive returns and economic and social progress for the entire country system, for the benefit of new generations.



The resources who will work on this program will have the opportunity to access a professional growth path in an international and technologically advanced context.

Within the Cyber & Security Solution Area, we are looking for a Networking & Communication Engineer for our offices in Genoa, Rome, and Naples.

The person will be involved in the following activities:

- Design, implementation, management and optimization of systems and services primarily based on Cloud and on-premise infrastructures (Cloud Service Provider Azure, Cisco Network, Firewall and WAF Solutions);

- Support the design of complex architectures to meet customer requirements with particular attention to security aspects (Integrity, availability and confidentiality), the effectiveness and efficiency of the designed solutions;

- Ensure the scalability, security and performance of on-prem environments, collaborating with architects, software developers, system administrators and security engineers.

Education: Degree in Engineering/STEM disciplines

Seniority: Expert 2-5 years of experience

At least 2 years in Network and Security projects in Cloud environments with excellent knowledge of technologies and attention to security aspects

Technical knowledge and skills:





- Skills in designing and implementing complex network infrastructures;

- Skills in designing and implementing network infrastructures in cloud environments (Azure);

- Skills in infrastructure as code;

- Experience in using security tools and protocols such as firewalls, WAF, VPN, IPS/IDS, etc.;

- Knowledge of network protocols, WAN technologies, load balancers, routing and switching;

- Ability to identify and resolve security vulnerabilities and network problems;

- Experience in network security management, including aspects such as authentication, authorization and encryption.

Behavioral skills:

- Good team working skills;

- Effective communication skills;

- Be a reliable and flexible team player;

- Have a creative mindset and the ability to analyze problems effectively.

Language skills:

- Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English (C1 level).

Other (e.g. Willingness to travel, Specific certifications...):

- Certifications - possession of any certifications in the following areas is a preferential requirement:

- Microsoft Certified:

- Azure Networking Engineer Associate;

- Azure Security Engineer Associate.

- Network – Cisco or similar;

- Security – Fortinet, CheckPoint, F5 or similar;

- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally on a monthly basis.
