Company description The CIM Competence Center is the national reference hub for technology transfer and for the dissemination of skills related to the manufacturing and service industries.

CIM is a network composed of Politecnico di Torino and the University of Turin, together with 22 partner companies, making the expertise of industrial leaders available to companies that want to innovate and remain highly competitive in the market.

CIM provides specialized services on enabling digital technologies for Manufacturing 4.0 and offers strategic and operational support for industrial development through the dissemination of services and advanced training courses for company managers.

Support for innovation and technology transfer programmes within the Digital Factory area through the design, development and validation of advanced Artificial Intelligence solutions intended for stakeholder companies and partners within the CIM ecosystem.

The role will be involved in the definition and implementation of industrial research, experimentation and technology adoption projects, with particular focus on the application of the most advanced Artificial Intelligence techniques to production, operational and decision-making processes. Activities will include requirements analysis, solution design, prototype development and support for experimentation mainly in industrial contexts, working closely with companies, technology providers, research centres and industrial partners. Areas of particular interest include:

· Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Deep Learning;

· Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLM);

· Natural Language Processing (NLP) and advanced conversational systems;

· Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG);

· Agentic AI, AI Orchestration and multi-agent systems;

Main activities

· Design and development of AI/Gen-AI-based solutions for industrial contexts, such as the design of RAG systems and AI Agents aimed at process automation and decision support.

· Definition of end-to-end AI architectures, including data acquisition, modelling, knowledge retrieval and orchestration.

· Development of prototypes, proof-of-concepts and technology demonstrators within innovation and applied research projects.

· Support for the industrial adoption of developed solutions, from experimentation through to operational deployment.





· Technical coordination and monitoring of activities carried out by technology partners and suppliers.

· Technology scouting, state-of-the-art analysis and assessment of emerging technologies in the AI field.

· Participation in the definition and implementation of collaborative projects with companies, research bodies and institutions.

· Delivery of training courses, workshops and dissemination activities for companies, professionals and stakeholders on Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI and digital transformation topics.

Requirements

· Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Automation Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications or related fields.

· Background in software development, system integration and design of complex digital solutions.

· Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, C# or equivalent.

· Knowledge of the main paradigms, frameworks and methodologies of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Deep Learning.

· Familiarity with technologies and platforms for the development of Gen-AI, LLM and NLP-based applications.

· Ability to analyse business needs and translate them into concrete and sustainable technological solutions.

· Experience or aptitude in managing complex projects.

· Strong communication skills and willingness to provide training and knowledge transfer.

· Excellent knowledge of Italian, both written and spoken.

· Good knowledge of English, both written and spoken.

· Excellent proficiency with the main office automation tools.

Optional qualifications

· Experience in technological innovation and/or technology transfer.

· Skills in Data Engineering and Data Management.

· Enabling digital technologies for industry.

· Knowledge of IT and OT infrastructures.

· Knowledge of Machine Vision.

· Project management skills.

· Previous experience in delivering specialized training.

· Knowledge of public funding mechanisms at local, national and European level.

Location

· Turin office or Cuneo office.





Experience The selection is open to profiles with different levels of seniority, including recent graduates and professionals with consolidated experience. Professional experience relevant to the role, technical skills possessed, and the level of autonomy and responsibility developed will be assessed.

Compensation and contract type

Expected gross annual salary range for the position: €28,000–€42,000. Employment classification under the Italian “Metalmeccanico” standard contract.

Placement within the salary range and the corresponding employment level will be determined on the basis of objective and neutral criteria, including relevant professional experience, technical skills, level of autonomy, responsibility and ability to manage complex projects.
