RINA is currently recruiting for a Construction Safety Senior Engineer to join its office in Rozzano, Italy within the Civil Engineering Division.
Mission
The role is focuses on ensuring the safety of construction operations in the infrastructure environment. (e.g. the construction site’s safety processes and procedures, equipment, workers, ecc…) with the cooperation of Principal Engineer.
Key Accountabilities
- Identify, assess and mitigate safety construction risks, ensuring that all projects comply with relevant safety regulations and industry standards
- Ensure that all construction activities comply with the applicable local, state, and / or federal safety regulations, as well as company safety policies and procedures
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards, unsafe practices, and unsafe conditions. Develop and drive the implementation corrective actions as needed, to assure compliance with safety and health program requirements; prepare technical reports of inspection findings; and develop corrective actions
- Assist in the development of project-specific safety plans, risk assessments, and method statement
- Conduct through investigations of accidents and near misses, report findings, and recommend preventive measures to avoid recurrence
- Verify safety training to construction personnel, subcontractors, and other stakeholders as required
- Verify or develop the emergency response plans for each construction site, ensuring that all personnel are aware of procedures
- Perform or verify risk assessments for various construction activities and propose control measures to mitigate potential risks.
- Verify the proper use, maintenance, and availability of safety equipment and personal protective gear
- Provide direct day-to-day support and oversight of project elements
