Part-Time Site Representative – Interior Design & Construction Lake Como · On-site · Tempo parziale consultancy · Approximately 1-2 days per week About the role We are a design and project management practice appointed by the private owner of a villa on Lake Como. Our contract covers the interior design of the property, preparation of the schedule of works, management of the construction works, and the design and manufacture of bespoke furniture. Our team is based outside Italy. Design, specification, programming, procurement and cost management are all handled in-house by our existing staff. What we need is a trusted representative on the ground. You will be our eyes and ears on site: attending the villa regularly, dealing directly with the main contractor and trades on our behalf, checking that what is being built matches what we have specified, and reporting back to us clearly and promptly. This is a liaison and monitoring role rather than a design role. You will not be asked to originate the design or manage the budget, but you will need enough technical literacy to read our drawings and specifications, understand what you are looking at on site, and hold a competent conversation with an Italian contractor about it. The Director is closely involved and will direct and support you throughout. We are looking for reliability, judgement and honest reporting rather than seniority. It is a defined part-time commitment that can sit alongside your existing work. What you will do • Attend site on an agreed regular basis during active works,



and report progress against our schedule of works • Provide short written reports with dated photographs after each visit, in English • Act as our day-to-day point of contact for the main contractor and specialist trades • Attend site meetings on our behalf and record what was agreed • Communicate our instructions clearly to the contractor and confirm they have been understood • Verify that work carried out matches our drawings, specifications and approved samples • Identify defects, deviations and substituted materials, and raise them promptly with evidence • Support snagging inspections and track items through to resolution • Confirm completed work on site to support our verification of contractor payment applications • Visit joinery workshops and fabricators to inspect bespoke furniture in progress, checking prototypes, samples and finishes against our specification before release – where required • Keep site records and photographic documentation organised and shared with our team What we are looking for • Based in Northern Italy, within comfortable travelling distance of Como • Minimum 3 years' experience in residential construction, interior fit-out or site coordination.



Extensive seniority is not required • Background in interior design, architecture, building surveying (geometra) or a related construction discipline • Fluent in both Italian and English, written and spoken. You will work in Italian on site and report to us in English, so genuine fluency in both is essential and will be assessed at interview • Able to read and interpret architectural and interior drawings, specifications and finish schedules • Full driving licence and own vehicle • Comfortable being direct with contractors and raising problems early rather than late • Clear, disciplined written reporting habits • Available part-time with flexibility around the site programme • P.IVA, or able to invoice as a self-employed professional Advantageous • Ability to produce CAD drawings to a professional standard (AutoCAD preferred; Revit, ArchiCAD or SketchUp also of interest). We have drawing work we would direct to the right person — survey and as-built drawings, dimensional checks on site, marked-up revisions and workshop drawings for bespoke items • Experience on Lake Como or elsewhere in Lombardy • Experience on high-specification private residential projects • Familiarity with bespoke joinery and furniture manufacture • Existing relationships with local trades and workshops • Registration with a professional Albo (Architetti, Ingegneri or Geometri) Please note This is a client-side representative role.
