Cloud Engineer (GCP) - Switzerland Full-Time Consultancy Assignment | Ticino
The Opportunity
For an established organisation operating in a secure and highly regulated environment, we are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to join its Infrastructure and Platform Engineering team in Ticino.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building, automating, securing, and operating cloud-native infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform . You will work directly with Terraform, Kubernetes/GKE, Python, Bash, and Git in a production environment.
The position requires full-time availability and daily onsite presence in Ticino. Remote or hybrid arrangements cannot be considered.

Your Responsibilities
Build, deploy, and maintain secure and scalable infrastructure on GCP.
Write and manage reusable, production-grade Terraform modules.
Deploy, operate, upgrade, and troubleshoot workloads on Google Kubernetes Engine.
Manage GCP services including IAM, VPC networks, and Compute Engine.
Develop automation and operational tooling using Python and Bash.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GCP-native tooling.
Work through Git-based workflows, including branching, code reviews, and merge requests.
Implement cloud security controls, least-privilege access, secrets management, and SSL/TLS configurations.
Configure monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.
Investigate production incidents,



perform root-cause analysis, and implement preventive actions.
Collaborate with development, security, and external engineering teams in an Agile environment.

Your Profile
At least 3 years of hands-on experience in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, Systems Engineering, or DevOps.
Strong production experience with Google Cloud Platform .
Advanced practical knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
Solid experience operating Kubernetes , preferably GKE, and containerised workloads.
Experience with GCP services such as IAM, VPC networks, and Compute Engine.
Strong scripting capabilities with Python and Bash .
Practical experience with Docker, Git, and CI/CD processes.
Strong troubleshooting skills across cloud infrastructure, containers, and production systems.
Comfortable working in an Agile or Scrum environment.
Available for a full-time consultancy assignment .
Able to work 100% onsite in Ticino .

Nice to Have
Experience with Jenkins and Ansible.
Knowledge of Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, or GCP Cloud Logging.
Exposure to Microsoft Azure.
GCP, Kubernetes, or Terraform certifications.
Previous experience in banking, financial services, or another regulated environment. xrdbqlu
Professional proficiency in Italian.
