ppWe are now seeking a motivated and qualified Biology Teacher to join our Rome International School team.
/p pThe ideal candidate will contribute to wider success by teaching boutstanding IB Biology classes /b and sustaining student performance in terms of teaching, learning, and evaluation.
/p pWorking with the High School Leadership Team and other colleagues in the Scientific and Student Support teams, you will contribute to RISROME ongoing success and growth through your excellent classroom practice, positive, collaborative, can do attitude and willingness to support the wider life of the school.
/p pYou will promote the mission and vision of the school, ensuring that students are working towards being global citizens who can shape the world.
You will ensure that planning, preparation, recording, assessment and reporting are of the highest quality and meet the varying learning and social needs of students.
You will be flexible and adjust to the needs of the school, actively contributing to its development and growth.
/p h3Responsibilities/duties /h3 h3Planning and Preparation: /h3 ulliPrepare short, medium and long term plans as required; /liliTeach High School as per your timetable or cover timetable; /liliDemonstrate extensive understanding of subject content and its prerequisite relationships and connections with other disciplines; /liliUse knowledge of students' backgrounds, skills, needs and interests to plan for groups of students; /liliPlan classes and units with aims/outcomes offering valuable learning which are suitable for all students in the classroom.
/liliDemonstrate effective time and resource management; /liliPlan collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the curriculum is integrated, broad and balanced; /liliSystematically and supportively set and mark homework, integrated with class work tailored to individual needs; /liliBe familiar with student IILPs and be actively involved in the writing, assessing, and monitoring of student goals; /liliPlan for student assessment in alignment with the aims/outcomes, with clear assessment criteria standards that have been communicated to students.
/li /ul h3Teaching and learning /h3 ulliTeach a subject area, developing a stimulating and challenging learning environment which secures effective learning and provides high standards of achievement, behaviour and discipline; /liliWork with the DSL and Well-being Leader to take responsibility for the pastoral care of students in accordance with school policies; /liliSupport the Middle and High School Principal in monitoring the quality of teaching and students' achievement and in developing links with parents of students and participating in school events.
/li /ul h3Skills:
/h3 ulliExperience teaching the IB and IGCSE programs; /liliExperience in International Education; /liliExperience of maximizing the academic and personal achievement of students; /liliDemonstrates a vision of the Science and ESS Curriculum and has the ability to manage change to reach desired goals; /liliAbility to communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers and other stakeholders and to differentiate instruction for all learners; /liliWillingness to be an active partecipant in our collaborative process; /liliProven ability to develop and deliver successful academic programs; /liliWillingness to work in a multicultural environment.
/li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ulliNative Speaker level in written and spoken English; /liliHigh level of communication, teaching and presentation skills; /liliMaster degree in Biology/Science or equipollent (preferred); /liliTeaching certification; /liliExperience with IB Biology required; /liliExperience with pastoral care preferred; /liliAbility to differentiate lessons to a variety of learning styles and ability levels; /liliHigh level of time management skills; /liliAbility to maintain appropriate standards of discipline in classroom; /liliAbility to show initiative and contribute to the mission and vision of the school.
