Position : Farm Manager
(Sustainable Farming)

The Role
As Farm Manager, you will own the day-to-day running of our agriculture farm in Uganda — from land preparation and planting through to harvest and post-harvest operations. You'll lead field teams, manage budgets and resources, and drive the rollout of regenerative practices including soil regeneration, agroforestry, carbon farming, and water-conservation systems. This is a hands-on leadership role based full-time on the farm.
Key Responsibilities
Farm Operations & Team Leadership
- Plan, organize, and supervise all farm activities: land preparation, planting, irrigation, crop maintenance, harvesting, and post-harvest handling.
- Develop seasonal cropping plans aligned to farm objectives and market demand.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise farm supervisors and field teams;
train and manage local farm workers.
- Oversee the maintenance and effective use of farm machinery, tools, irrigation systems, and infrastructure.
Crop & Livestock Management
- Oversee crop production and ensure adherence to best agronomic practices.
- Coordinate integrated pest and disease management programs.
- Support livestock integration within regenerative farming systems where applicable.
- Monitor crop health, yield performance, and resource efficiency.
Irrigation & Resource Management
- Manage irrigation scheduling and water resource use across the farm.
- Oversee water-harvesting structures, ponds, and irrigation infrastructure.
- Implement water conservation and climate-resilient farming practices.
Sustainability, Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with local agricultural regulations, environmental standards,
and company policy.
- Participate in audits, certifications, and farm assessments as required.
- Uphold health, safety, environmental, and biosecurity standards across all farm operations.
Reporting & Stakeholder Coordination - Prepare weekly, monthly, and seasonal farm performance reports.
- Collaborate with agronomists, regenerative agriculture specialists, engineers, and the management team.
- Provide regular updates on progress, challenges, budgets, and operational improvements.
- Support planning and execution of future farm development projects.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, Agricultural Engineering, Forestry,
Animal Science, or a related field.
- 10+ years managing large-scale commercial farms, plantations, or regenerative agriculture projects
- Strong knowledge of regenerative agriculture, soil health management, agroforestry, and sustainable farming systems.
- Proven experience managing farm labor, budgets, and operational planning.
- Solid understanding of irrigation systems, crop production, and farm mechanization.
- Confident with farm record-keeping and reporting.
- Prior experience on a large-scale agricultural project is essential;
experience in Africa isa strong advantage.
- Exposure to carbon farming, biochar production, composting systems, or ecosystem restoration is a plus.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, including experience managing multicultural teams.
- Willingness to relocate and live full-time on a remote farm in Uganda for the duration of the assignment.
- Willingness to travel within project locations as required.
