The Giovanni Armenise-Harvard laboratory of Immunity & Cancer (https://inoc.it/it/ricercatori/luigia-pace/) is seeking for a highly motivated PhD student candidate in Immunology and epigenetics to develop new treatments to fight cancer.

Research: The lab addresses fundamental aspects of T lymphocytes responses, related to memory T cell differentiation and long-term protective immunity. Our research aims to understand how T lymphocytes integrate complex environmental stimuli and translate these signals into specific epigenetic and differentiation programs, which specify their cell fate commitment and function. The research’s goal is to use this knowledge to develop novel strategies for the prevention and treatment of cancer, in the new and promising field of cancer vaccination and immunotherapy.

The lab combines a variety of approaches, genetic and genomic techniques, including high throughput genetic engineering, single cell multi-omics and spatial transcriptomics, and translational models. We are a dynamic and young multidisciplinary team with extensive national and international collaborations.

Qualifications and requirements:





- Basic knowledge in immunology, molecular biology, epigenetics is considered an advantage
- Good communication skills and self-motivation
- Fluent in spoken and written English The main goal of INOC IRCCS (https://inoc.it/it/) is to foster and develop excellence in research and education, with special reference to cancer genomics and immunology. The institute provides high-level scientific education for students and post-doctoral fellows, and access to state-of-the-art research facilities and international networks.
