Sodecia is looking for a Commodity Buyer to join our Global Purchasing team and manage the sourcing of surface treatment, chemical, and external processing commodities across our international operations.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, driving cost competitiveness, and supporting new project launches while ensuring quality, delivery, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing activities including RFIs, RFQs, supplier selection, negotiations, and contract management.
- Develop and execute commodity strategies for coatings, heat treatment, welding, chemicals, and external services.
- Support project launches by ensuring supplier readiness, capacity, timing, and cost targets.
- Conduct market analysis, benchmarking, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Project teams to drive sourcing decisions.
- Manage supplier performance, development, onboarding, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support APQP, PPAP, and supplier quality requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Sodecia's sourcing procedures and governance processes.
- Maintain purchasing data and supplier information within ERP and procurement platforms.

- Quality Services and Sorting Activities
- Other External Manufacturing Operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of purchasing experience, preferably within the automotive industry.
- Experience with surface treatment, chemicals, or external manufacturing services is an advantage.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Experience working with ERP systems and procurement platforms.
- Fluent in English.
- Availability for domestic and international travel.
