Join TJX Europe as a Senior Buyer in Milan and take ownership of your own business area. You will build strategic supplier relationships, negotiate high-impact commercial deals and identify product and market opportunities that directly influence sales and profitability.
This is not traditional retail buying. Instead of selecting from fixed seasonal ranges, you will use commercial judgement, market knowledge and entrepreneurial thinking to create opportunities across the Italian retail landscape.

What you will do
- Lead retail buying and commercial strategy for your business area.
- Identify new brands, products, suppliers and market opportunities.
- Build and develop a strategic vendor base through networking, trade fairs and market activity.
- Negotiate commercial agreements that deliver compelling customer value and profitable growth.
- Use customer, product, competitor and market insight to make buying decisions.
- Own sales planning, inventory, delivery planning and Open-to-Buy.
- Balance margin, stock, liquidity, risk and longer-term commercial opportunity.
- Make decisions at pace when information is incomplete, then adapt as market evidence changes.
- Influence stakeholders across Italy and international TJX teams.
- Coach and develop buying talent through live commercial decisions.
What we are looking for
- Fluent Italian and English – Verbal and written
- A full driving license.
- Experience of living and working in Italy, with strong understanding of Italian business culture and the retail market.
- Strong commercial buying, category management, business development or comparable commercial experience.
- A successful track record in negotiation, supplier management or vendor management.
- Evidence of owning commercial decisions and delivering profitable results.
- Strong stakeholder management, relationship-building and influencing skills.
- Commercial curiosity and a genuine interest in fashion, product, brands and retail trends.
- Confidence working independently, with the humility and learning agility to respond to challenge and feedback.
Your job title does not define your potential. You may currently work as a Senior Buyer, Buyer, Category Manager, Commercial Manager, Business Development Manager, Account Manager, Product Manager, Vendor Manager, Supplier Manager or Strategic Partnerships Manager. We are interested in the commercial evidence behind your experience.
The practical details
- Based in Milan, with office attendance on Mondays and a home location within one hour of the office.
- Vendor travel across Italy three to four days per week, often including overnight stays.
- Monthly travel to the UK or Germany, plus trade fairs, competitor shopping and industry events.
- Flexibility to respond when vendor meetings or business priorities change at short notice.
- Fluent written and spoken English & Italian with working knowledge of the Italian market.
- You must have the legal right to work in the country you are applying to.
