We are currently looking for an experienced PLC / Automation Engineer for an initial 3–6 month contract supporting a major industrial automation project in Italy.

The Role
You will be responsible for supporting and troubleshooting automated production equipment, identifying faults and getting machinery back into operation efficiently.
This is not primarily a new PLC development/programming position. We need someone comfortable going online with existing PLC systems, reading and understanding the logic, and using it to diagnose equipment issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot Omron PLC-controlled production equipment
- Go online with PLCs and analyse existing logic to identify faults
- Diagnose automation, electrical, sensor and equipment issues
- Carry out root-cause analysis and support corrective actions
- Work with electrical drawings, sensors, actuators and associated automation hardware
- Support production and maintenance teams with equipment breakdowns
- Work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years' PLC / industrial automation experience
- Strong hands-on Omron PLC experience desirable
- Experience with CX-One and/or Sysmac Studio highly desirable
- Proven experience troubleshooting automated production machinery
- Comfortable reading and understanding existing PLC programs
- Good electrical and automation hardware knowledge
- Experience xdwybme working in a live manufacturing/production environment
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Able to work fully onsite in Italy
Contract Details
- Location: Modena
- Contract: Initial 3–6 months
- Hours: Rotating three-shift pattern
- 06:00–15:00
- 14:00–22:00
- 21:00–06:00
- Accommodation: Provided / covered
- Travel: Flights and project-related travel covered
- Rate: Competitive hourly contract rate
