Director of Facilities & Projects
The Director of Facilities & Projects is a key member of our team, responsible for the strategic leadership of all engineering, maintenance, facilities management, technical services, and capital projects at Hotel Excelsior Venice Lido Resort .
Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role ensures the hotel’s physical assets, engineering infrastructure, life safety systems, and guest facilities are maintained to the highest luxury hospitality standards while preserving one of Venice’s most iconic historic landmarks.
The successful candidate will lead both the operational Engineering function and the planning and execution of all CAPEX projects, renovations, and infrastructure improvements. Following the evolution of the Engineering Department, this position will progressively assume the operational responsibilities currently performed by the Maintenance Manager, creating a single point of accountability for engineering operations, facilities management, and project delivery.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise, commercial acumen, and proven experience managing luxury hotel engineering operations while successfully delivering complex refurbishment and capital projects.
Provide strategic leadership of the Engineering and Facilities Department.
Lead all engineering, maintenance, utilities, and technical services across the hotel.
Ensure full compliance with all statutory, fire life safety, environmental, and health & safety regulations.
Lead the planning and execution of all CAPEX projects, renovations, refurbishments, and infrastructure upgrades.
Manage engineering budgets, maintenance expenditure, utilities, procurement, and service contracts.
Drive sustainability initiatives, energy efficiency, and responsible asset management.
Lead contractor selection, tendering, project supervision, and quality assurance.
