ppThe primary purpose of this position is to serve as a security specialist for an organization with subordinate organizations below them to protect resources from espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure and/or compromise of information or material considered vital to the organization's mission interests, national defense or national security.
/ppThis is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS).
The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level.
The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
/ppEXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position.
Examples of creditable experience include: Knowledge of a wide range of concepts, principles and practices in security administration and intelligence, such as would be gained through extensive graduate study or experience, and skill in applying this knowledge to difficult and complex work assignments or a comprehensive, intensive, practical knowledge of Information and Personnel Security.
Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

/liliKnowledge of the intelligence enterprise to support and promote information sharing and strategies.
/liliKnowledge of required security training concepts, programs, procedures, and practices to assist managers in establishing and operating internal security programs.
/liliSkill in the use of analytical principles, practices, and techniques to review and evaluate security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the organization.
/liliAbility to communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately.
/liliAbility to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
/li /olh3Conditions of Employment /h3olliPosition is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
/liliDrug Testing:



This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program.
Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.
Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
/liliDepartment of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification and Security Asset Protection Professional Certification conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD -M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification.
The listed certification requirements may not be deleted or modified without the written approval of the AF Security Functional Authority (SAF/AA) or their delegated security career field representative.
/liliMission Essential: This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.

/li /olpPART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or tempo parziale work.
