Partner with the best As the Commodity Manager/Buyer you will be responsible to negotiate with dedicated providers according to specific policies. Achieve the best contractual conditions while also ensuring internal customer satisfaction. Understands concepts, methods, procedures and approaches.
The Commodity Buyer is responsible for:
- Developing and executing long term strategies for the assigned commodity, ensuring best performance for procurement KPI
- Integrating commodity strategies into product leadership, engineering and manufacturing objectives.
- For New Product Development, driving supplier selection, development, and overall supplier management with support of engineering, product leadership or other sourcing team in accordance with the business strategy
- Partnering and being a point of reference for Product Leadership, Sales and Engineering for product strategy of the assigned commodity
- Developing negotiation strategies and leading negotiations to achieve stated goals and objectives of supply chain for Single PO as well as Strategic Partnership
- Negotiating and issuing purchase orders with suppliers achieving lowest possible cost for material, balanced against optimum quality and schedule needs
- Developing Sourcing initiatives for cost out program, deflation, cycle reduction, BCC Sourcing and cash flow improvement (e.g. rebate, payment terms)
- Leveraging S&OP; data to match and optimize supplier capacity with business goals
