MSC Technology Italia is looking for a Maintenance Engineer with a background in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electronics, or Industrial Engineering to support the maintenance, reliability, and lifecycle management of equipment across MSC's global operations.
The successful candidate will work closely with international engineering, maintenance, and operations teams, including the engineering team in Chennai, to coordinate maintenance activities, analyze equipment performance and failures, and continuously improve equipment reliability and availability.
The role combines maintenance engineering, technical support,
reliability analysis, troubleshooting, and maintenance planning, with a strong focus on optimizing asset performance throughout the equipment lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans.
- Coordinate and support remote maintenance and troubleshooting activities, working with local maintenance teams and international engineering teams.
- Monitor and analyze equipment performance, availability, downtime, and failure trends, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on recurring or critical failures and define appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Support troubleshooting and diagnostics of mechanical, electrical, electronic, mechatronic, and electromechanical systems.
- Contribute to equipment lifecycle management, maintenance optimization, technical upgrades, and critical spare parts identification.
- Define and monitor maintenance KPIs, including MTBF, MTTR, equipment availability, downtime, and maintenance effectiveness.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guidelines, and service reports, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electronics/Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer, Reliability Engineer, Field Service Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, or in a similar industrial engineering role.
Good understanding of mechanical, electrical, electronic, mechatronic, and electromechanical systems.
Experience with preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, maintenance planning, troubleshooting, and Root Cause Analysis.
Understanding of equipment reliability, availability, maintainability, and lifecycle management, including KPIs such as MTBF and MTTR.
Familiarity with CMMS/EAM systems,
maintenance data analysis, and condition monitoring/predictive maintenance techniques is considered an advantage.
Experience with industrial equipment, automated systems, material handling, heavy machinery, or logistics environments is considered a plus.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work in international teams and professional proficiency in English.

The position will be classified within the Employee category, at one of the C2, C3, B1 or B2 levels under the Italian Metalworking Industry National Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL Metalmeccanico Industria).
The classification level and any additional remuneration components supplementing the base salary will be determined based on an assessment, carried out during the selection process, of objective and neutral criteria such as, by way of example, the candidate’s professional experience, technical skills, level of autonomy and the responsibilities required by the role.
