Onsite Support Engineer Italy Key Responsiblities : Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): • Automation Project Support including, troubleshooting system issues, Coding, Design, Testing and IOQ Support • Support of Manufacturing Systems such as [Werum PasX & OSI-PI] • Support of Onsite Systems such as [Schneider Client, Chart Recorders, SiPAT, TCUs, GMP PCs and Peripherals, OT Infrastructure and GMP Printers] • PLC Error Diagnostics & Root Cause Analysis - Analyzing errors in the PLC CPU or CP communication module by reviewing the PLC diagnostic buffer. - Identifying the root cause of system faults—whether hardware- or communication‐related—and implementing corrective actions. • Firmware, Memory & Module Health Checks - Verifying CPU, CP card, and I/O module memory load and firmware versions to ensure stable operation. - Performing firmware upgrades or memory optimization when necessary to enhance system performance and reliability.
• Restoring Communication & System Stability - Power‐cycling the PLC or CP card after resolving field‐side issues to restore normal operation. - Addressing communication failures between CP cards and PI/OPC servers, including resolving IP conflicts and updating firmware to prevent recurring issues. • Field Device & I/O Traceability Using E&I; Drawings - Tracing field device I/O signals using electrical and instrumentation drawings, from the end device to the PLC I/O card. - Inspecting fuses and wiring integrity to ensure proper functioning of field devices such as lamps, sensors, and actuators. • Support design of new automation system infrastructure for client projects • Configure and maintain new / existing systems, associated design and operations documents • Assist with the implementation of new/upgraded systems and/or virtualisation. • Develop and implement IT standards and procedures in line with industry trends • Write, review, and update SDLC documentation for automation systems (RS, SDS, HDS, Protocols,
