Striving for operational excellence, we specialize in pioneering technical design solutions to meet the evolving needs of our customers. /p h3Position Description /h3 pVantage is looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer to be part of our Mission Critical engineering team, positioned at the forefront of an exciting growth market. In this role, you will act as the client-side electrical technical authority for VDC design projects, driving electrical design direction, providing technical leadership, developing specifications, managing design consultants, supporting contractor interfaces, and leading the transition from design to installation and eventually to operations. Collaboration with various teams is expected as you navigate complex engineering challenges, ensuring project standards are met and enhanced. /p pYour role will include providing electrical engineering support for early-stage feasibility, test-fit, and concept design before external consultants are engaged, while helping to shape future VDC design solutions in response to new customer requirements, delivery strategies, and emerging technologies. Within Vantage’s collaborative environment, you will interface with stakeholders and work closely with customer experts to translate requirements into practical, scalable solutions. VDC leads design intent internally, and when design consultants are appointed, you will direct and challenge them to develop solutions that best align with VDC standards, business objectives, and customer needs. This position will significantly contribute to Vantage’s profitability and success. /p h3Essential Job Functions /h3 ul liLead electrical design element for internal development ofearly-stage feasibility, test-fitandconcept design. /li liManage external electrical engineering partners while setting technical direction and driving them toward solutions that best align with VDC standards, customer requirements, and business objectives. /li liCollaborate with product team to developfuture VDC electrical design solutions by responding to new customer requirements, emerging technologies,
and value engineering opportunities for implementation across projects. /li liDrive be accountable for project-level tasks and milestones /li liAct as the client-side electrical technical authority for VDC-led design directionand review ofdesign consultant design documents /li liSupport design consultant review of technicalsubmittals, RFIs and engineering studies/assessmentsduring construction,providing support where necessary. /li liVisit job sites for field investigations and coordination meetings /li liLead on the development of the standardized and optimizedelectricalequipment in the OFCI inventory program and actively support the OFCI procurement teams with technical advice and direct collaboration with vendors. /li liCreation and evaluate of high value engineering and innovation ideas, and provide recommendations based on business-related cost-agevolazioni analyses. /li liProactively engage with internal and external partners, to identify and exploit lessons to implement good ideas and resolve recurring issues. /li liDeliverelectricaldesigns usingDesign for manufacture and assembly (DfMA)principles, focusing on modular, standardized, and prefabricated solutions (MV, LV, UPS, Generator, HAC, etc.) /li liSupport development offungible building blocks, enabling scalable and repeatable design across projects /li liRepresentthe business in technical workshops with the customers /li liReport on weekly basis to the Vantage leadership on design progress, blockers, risks and assignment of priorities /li /ul h3Duties /h3 ul liDevelop and review project specifications, schematic drawings, design documents, submittals, and commissioning scripts in partnership with internal and external design teams. /li liProvide engineering oversight and review of project plans, OFCI equipment, and system submittals. /li liHelp to develop minimum requirements for complete sequence of operations for all designed systems. /li liCoordinate with internal engineering teams across all disciplines to optimize product delivery to Operations. /li liEnsure all designs are fully coordinated bychecking interfaces with other disciplines (sustainability,mechanical, structural, architectural, etc.) /li liAlignelectricalsolutions withbroader stakeholder requirements, including client, operations, and construction teams /li liSupport Sales during customer tours, RFP responses, and customer meetings for standard and bespoke solutions. /li liCoach and help develop the career paths for junior electrical engineers. /li liParticipate in project design team meetings and interface with various team members. /li liEnsure engineering standards and specifications are met during construction. /li liConduct value engineering analysis and provide system recommendations based on ROI and IRR. /li liReview, comment on, and process project plans, actively participating in gating approvals.
/li liSupport Site Operations to troubleshoot and retrofit existing systems. /li liAttend and review documentation for the electrical part of project commissioning. /li liHelp set standards for electrical commissioning efforts and ensure compliance on projects. /li liProvide project coordination and commission support. /li liAssist in the Vantage product development process. /li liWork closely with Operations to balance cost-effective solutions with operational sustainability. /li liPerform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management. /li /ul h3Skills, Knowledge and Experience /h3 ul liBachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, from an accredited university or college /li li10 years of experience in electrical power design and construction required (15+ years preferred) /li liAccredited engineering credentials preferred (Chartered Engineer in EU / Professional Engineer in NA) /li liMission Critical (Data Centers, Semiconductors, Pharmaceutical etc.) design, construction and/or customer side experience is required. (5+ years preferred) /li liExperience with EU construction markets regulations required /li liProficient inBlueBeam, Excel, Word, AutoCAD, Procore and/or Autodesk Construction Cloud /li liUnderstanding of BIM, Revit and Navisworks environments /li liWorking knowledge of critical power infrastructure within a data center project from external power supply, to end circuit supply to the racks. /li liUnderstanding of the basics of HV/MV substations design operations and interfaces with the Utility and individual buildings. /li liWorking knowledge ofall building and fire codes ordinances, including IEC standards /li liNational and international travel required is expected to be 10 to 15%, but may increase over time as the business role evolves /li /ul pVantage Data Centers does not accept unsolicited resumes from search firm agencies.
