Job Summary Farnell Electronics, an Avnet company is on the look out for a Business Development Representative (BDR) which will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and developing new sales opportunities for NI's (National Instruments) test products, software, and solutions. This role combines foundational technical awareness of test and measurement solutions with proactive outbound prospecting to build pipeline and support revenue growth. The BDR engages new and existing customers through multi-channel outreach (phone, email, virtual meetings) to uncover customer challenges, position NI Test capabilities, and advance qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales stakeholders. The BDR plays a critical role in expanding market presence,
increasing account penetration, and supporting regional sales teams in achieving revenue and pipeline targets.
What You Will Be Doing
- Proactively identify and qualify new business opportunities for NI Test solutions through outbound prospecting, inbound inquiries, marketing leads, and supplier referrals.
- Engage prospective and existing customers to understand test, validation, and measurement challenges across applications such as R&D;, manufacturing test, and validation.
- Initiate first-contact conversations to position NI products, and system-level solutions.
- Qualify opportunities based on customer needs, timeline, budget, and technical fit, and route sales-ready opportunities to the appropriate Account Manager, Inside Sales Representative, or Business Development Manager.
