Job Summary
The CNC Programmer is responsible for creating, testing, and optimizing CNC programs for the machining department. This role requires interpreting complex technical drawings and specifications to ensure the precise machining of parts and components.
The CNC Programmer collaborates closely with engineers and machinists to improve manufacturing processes and ensure high-quality production.
Additionally, the role includes implementing customized solutions based on project/product feasibility analysis, optimizing procedures, defining machining cycles, and selecting appropriate tools.
This position is made even more comprehensive by the chance to work directly with CNC programs and validate new products within the machining department.
Responsibilities
- Programming:Develop CNC programs using CAD/CAM software for complex parts and components. Knowledge of Siemens Sinumerik, Fanuc, and Okuma controls is important for editing existing programs.
- Blueprint Analysis:Review blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
- Tool Selection:Choose the appropriate tools and machines for each job.
- Testing and Optimization: Test programs directly on the machine and make necessary adjustments to ensure efficiency and quality.
- Process Improvement:Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve critical process issues and implement process improvements.
- Documentation:Maintain records and documentation related to machine specifications and programming notes.
