European Government Bonds Desk – Intern

Tradition is currently seeking to appoint an intern on a 6 month basis on our European Government Bonds Desk based in Rome.
Main responsibilities within the Intern position include:
- Assisting brokers in their daily activities.
- Booking of trade tickets in the internal database.
- Preparing daily P&L; and trade recaps, enhancing the efficiency and workflow within the desk.
- Coordination between Front, Middle and Back Office for post-trade reconciliation.
- Development and optimization of desk tools, mainly by using VBA and Python.
Key skills, experience and competencies required to be successful in this role:
- Highly motivated with a strong interest in financial markets and the wider market environment.
- Excellent knowledge of financial markets,
interest rate products and derivatives.
- Fluent in both French and English.
- Strong Excel and VBA skills, with experience developing and optimising tools.
- Knowledge of Bloomberg would be advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail, with a rigorous and organised approach to work.
- Proactive, dynamic and able to work effectively within a fast-paced team environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across teams.
