Short Description

We are seeking an experienced

AVN Operator for a 6-month microtunnelling project in

Gubbio, Italy

, commencing in October 2026. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and monitoring an AVN 1600 Microtunnelling Boring Machine (MTBM), ensuring safe and efficient tunnelling operations while maintaining production targets and quality standards.

Function Description

- Operate and control the AVN 1600 machine during microtunnelling and pipe jacking operations.

- Monitor machine performance, steering, guidance systems, slurry circuits, and excavation parameters.

- Perform adjustments to maintain alignment and achieve project tolerances.

- Monitor face pressure and ground conditions to ensure safe excavation.

- Conduct daily pre-start inspections and routine maintenance checks.

- Troubleshoot operational issues and coordinate with mechanics and electricians when required.

Requirements





- Proven experience operating Herrenknecht AVN machines, preferably the AVN 1600 or similar.

- Understanding of slurry separation systems, hydraulic pipe jacking operations, ground conditioning and face control

- Experience working on utility, sewer, water, or pipeline microtunnelling projects.

- Ability to read and interpret tunnelling drawings and alignment data.

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently during shifts.
